Places of Worship
Oman is an Islamic country and follows the Shari’a Law for its legislature, which provides for the freedom to practice all religions in a manner that does not disrupt public order. Being a Muslim nation, mosques are the predominant place of worship throughout the region and can be found everywhere, even in small towns and villages. However, keeping in mind the expatriate population and the large tourist traffic, the Sultanate has places of worship for other religions as well, situated in peaceful localities in all major cities.
